The Days of Elijah (Part 5)

The Spirit of Jezebel is Narcissistic.

The Apostle Paul in his first letter to the Corinthians wrote:

As for myself, brethren, when I came to you, I did not come proclaiming to you the testimony and evidence of mystery and secret of God [concerning what He has done through Christ for the salvation of men] in lofty words and eloquence of human philosophy and wisdom;  [v. 2] For I resolved to know nothing (to be acquainted with nothing, to make a display of the knowledge of nothing, and to be conscious of nothing) among you except Jesus Christ (the Messiah) and Him crucified.  1 Corin. 2:1-2 [Amp.]

The Apostle Paul was a man of excellent education among his peers.  He had the excellence of mind to be able to deliver an eloquent message capable of extracting the highest admiration of his constituents.  But he chose to express that while was he capable of impressing others with his wisdom of the scriptures, he chose to extrapolate on the finished work of the cross to enhance the understanding for those in Corinth in need of spiritual guidance.  The emphasis he makes here is that Christ died for us must be understood in a personal manner; we must apply it to our own lives in order to experience the abundant life that Christ died for us to have.  This is what I call Cross-centric.

Today, so many people are prone to think in eccentric terms.  People are race-centric, class-centric, creed-centric.  There is no end to the eccentricities but the only resolution for all of us is to be Cross-centric.  The Cross of Christ, when we apply it to our own lives by asking Jesus to come into our hearts and live, makes all of us equal.  That’s just one of the brilliant resolutions of the finished work of the Cross!

The opposite position to the Cross is to be narcissistic.  Our carnal nature screams the attitude “it’s all about me!” and that’s what must be crucified daily.  It’s not just once; it’s daily.  Coming to Christ and accepting the work He did for us personally is just the beginning because dyeing daily is a personal lifestyle.  Some days we experience great success in extinguishing that attitude.  Other days, not so much.  Welcome to the human race.

With Jezebel, it’s all about her and she is using her supernatural forces to operate and lead at a high level within the Church today.  If you want to test any doctrine this is the first measure to use.  If any doctrine that is self-centric is Jezebel’s supernatural seduction and she is very successful at seduction.  It always looks good and appeases the emotions.  She plays supernaturally with the circumstances and deceives the well-intentioned church members.  Jezebel will always shift the focus away from Christ and His finished work on the Cross.  She knows if she gets our eyes off of the finished work of the Cross then she’s got us.  In fact, that’s all she got to do because our fallen sinful nature takes care of the rest.  She doesn’t have to spend huge amount of her effort to deceive us because we’ll take care of deceiving ourselves when we walk in our carnal nature which is fueled by lust.  Lust is the desire of demons working within people.  Lust is never of God.  It’s not a Godly attribute.

But if we do what the Bible tells us to do, which is “seek ye first the Kingdom of Heaven and all it’s righteousness, then shall all these things be added unto you” we will have what we need and what we want because we won’t want outside the will of God.  It won’t be lust, it will be desire put there by God because “the Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.”

So we must all examine our motives.  Unfortunately, most Christians assume they have pure motives, but the proof is in the pudding, isn’t it?  If everyone had pure motives in the Church we wouldn’t have church splits, failed ministries and Church plant failures.  What we need is a revival on examining our hearts and motives.  A revival is restoring our hearts to God so if we say we’re not in revival we’re admitting we’re backslidden.  The answer is in crying out to God for godly repentance because the Bible tells us that man’s repentance does us no good – it’s takes godly repentance.  Remember, the scepter must first be extended in order to approach the throne.

The Church at large in America has grown cold and is nearly dead.   People in the ministry have fallen in great numbers.  Many are no longer in the pulpit because they took their eyes off the cross and became self-centric.  They have every excuse known to man on why they left the calling and run back and forth from one dream to the next.  When one fails, it’s on to the next dream and drama.  Former ministers who had the highest calling known to man but took no pleasure in it, complained, abused their congregants and failed to appreciate the protection and hedge of God.  All too sad but true.

Join me next time in my conclusion of The Days of Elijah when I describe how the Jezebel spirit operates through synthetic supernatural gifts and manifestations in the Church.https://vyzyn.org/the-days-of-elijah-conclusion/
